Emma

Emma is an 18-year-old girl who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While at college Emma, noticed that some of her lymph nodes were very swollen. After multiple visits with the health center at school, rounds of blood work, and an ultrasound with no answers, Emma and her family went to see an ENT. After meeting with the ENT Emma was sent for a biopsy. After a few days Emma and her family finally learned that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Emma is currently receiving chemotherapy and plans to continue college from home while she is undergoing treatment. Being in a 7-year physical therapy program at Quinnipiac University, Emma is focused on working her hardest during her battle with cancer.

“The entire thing is so surreal. You never think you’re going to be diagnosed with cancer until you are. Although this isn’t what I expected would have come of my swollen lymph nodes I am sure that I will come out of this just fine. I am extremely thankful for everyone who has supported me through my journey so far.” – Emma
